1 in 6 children in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) are registered with one of the state welfare centres. These girls and boys often live in poor and/or dysfunctional families that are struggling to afford the necessities. Most vulnerable children lack regular and nutritious meals, adequate accommodation, access to education and building of the life skills.
Their Dreams Need Your Support is a programme that provides holistic assistance to the most vulnerable children. The programme asks individuals and companies to provide a monthly allowance for the most vulnerable children. The World Vision staff supports children and parents in creating a development plan for a child, monitor progress and administer the programme.
DonateChildren included in Their Dreams Need Your Support project live in generational poverty. Their parents/guardians do not have a steady income and struggle to afford food, appropriate clothes, school supplies, and transportation to school.
But, vulnerability is not just a lack of food and basic life necessities. These children are often excluded from extracurricular activities and have no other opportunities to explore their talents and aspirations. Their life skills are underdeveloped; they often suffer from speech impediments, are unable to articulate their thoughts and they struggle with forming relationships.
DonateWorld Vision has been working in BiH since 1994, contributing to positive changes in the lives of more than 20,000 children, annually. Our thirty years of experience in the field generates detailed knowledge of the needs of the BiH population. Partnerships with local institutions and organizations, such as centres for social work and schools, ensure that we have timely insight into the needs of children.
Their Dreams Need Your Support has a demonstrated potential and ability to transform the lives of the most vulnerable children. Together with children and their families, we forge a path to reaching the full potential of each child involved in the project.
